About
Amy Dunlap, Principal
Hello, I'm Amy Dunlap, a passionate individual whose life is a vibrant tapestry of roles and interests. As the proud principal of Evergreen since 2014 and, more recently, the rekindled flame at Gold Street School in 2023, I've dedicated my career to shaping young minds within the Yreka School District since 2001. My journey is not confined to the professional realm; it extends to the picturesque landscapes I explore through hiking, a pastime that invigorates my spirit. At home, amidst the delightful chaos of family life, I find joy in the company of my husband and four wonderful children, not to mention our beloved canine companion, Ace. When the sun dips low, you might find me taking a refreshing plunge into the water, as swimming is another passion that brings balance to my life. With a Master's degree in education, I approach my role with a commitment to fostering a love for learning, guiding the next generation, and creating a nurturing environment where both students and staff can thrive.
Kim Heilmann, TOSA
Hello, my name is Kim Heilmann. My position here at Evergreen Elementary School is TOSA/Student Support. I oversee the behavior component of our students and ensure that supports are put in place to meet them where they are at. I absolutely love the opportunities that come with working with students, families, and staff in this position. I thoroughly enjoy being able to build relationships, provide solutions, do hard things together, celebrate successes, and create opportunities for all stakeholders to thrive. Through the use of restorative practices we are educating our students the importance of using their voice, discussing harm, making amends and being their best self. These are skills that they will carry with them for a lifetime. Evergreen Elementary School is filled with unconditional love for our community that is felt throughout our entire campus. The best part of my day is stepping on campus knowing that I have endless opportunities to be instrumental in creating endless defining moments for all. I am proud to be a part of the Evergreen Elementary family and consider this position to be a true blessing in my life. It is the happiest place on earth. When I am not here I enjoy spending time with my family which consists of two adult children, and three bonus children that I share with my best friend and partner in crime.
